一、完全撤回「送中條例」,永不重啟;
二、收回示威活動之「暴動」定性;
三、撤銷對所有抗爭者之控罪;
四、成立獨立調查委員會,追究及徹查警察濫權暴行;

Open letter to President Roland Chin and President Stephen Cheung

This week, chief executive Carrie Lam had invited a group of renowned or prominent individuals to form a platform of dialogue in the name of understanding and respect, and to explore a tangible way for Hong Kong. The first meeting of this group had concluded this morning.

Yet, this very group of people only consist of two to three dozen of individuals from political, religious and educational circles. People like former chief secretary Henry Tang Ying-yen, former secretary for transport and housing Anthony Cheung Bing-leung and the Apostolic Administrator of Hong Kong John Tong Hon are the ones who got invited yet do not have much representativeness.

Despite the leaderless nature of the Anti-Extradition Law Movement, which made no one could represent the people, the deep-rooted flaws in our political system and officials still very much exist. As long as these so-called elites of the society are still blinded to the thoughts and the concerns of the people, their effort in forming such ‘platform’ would be another failed attempt.

Then again, such ‘platform’ is highly suspicious as nothing but another political PR show. After Carrie Lam got no flattering from the Students’ Unions. She turned her head to the presidents of the higher institutions. Apparently, she is still in a delusion that there is a leader in this movement for her to tackle. Yet, fact remains that as long as the people’s demands are not met, every form of dialogue are meaningless.

And our Five Demands have always been the same since the start of this movement:
1. Completely withdraw Extradition Bill.
2. Retract the proclamation that protests were riots
3. Withdraw criminal charges against all protesters
4. Thoroughly investigate abuse of powers by the police.
5. Immediately implement Dual Universal Suffrage.

As the Anti-Extradition Law Movement develops, Hongkongers have made our will very clear. Every act of political gesture the government play would be meaningless unless it starts to listen into people’s will. Hence, we urge our presidents not to step so low and become a puppet and an executioner of the overlord, and to engrave the nature of education in your minds.
